Deborah Anderson, Project Coordinator, Training, Research & Consultancy
Deborah joined Dementia Adventure in September 2015. Prior to that, she ran the West Essex Alzheimer’s Society team, managing the day to day support of a variety of groups sessions and information services for people living with dementia and their carers.
Before becoming involved in supporting people with dementia and their support networks, Deborah managed the Apton Road Day Centre in Bishops Stortford. During this period, she was really keen to keep the service users motivated and engaged with modern society. One of her key objectives in this regard was to organise varied and engaging activities that were of interest to the wide community of the over 60’s.
Completing a degree in Health and Social Welfare in 2013 and an accountancy technician diploma in 2007, her career pre 2005 was spent working in London within the Banking sector with some unusual and diverse roles, from providing training and business mapping to running the Equity Operations division.
She has run several Scouting groups of all age ranges and has been a volunteer within a variety for organisations since the age of 12, volunteering is still as important to her 35 years on. Outdoor experiences are a daily pleasure, on which her two spaniels insist.
