This position will play a key role in helping to deliver, manage and coordinate our range of high-quality supported dementia holidays for people living with dementia and their carers. You will lead up to 6 supported dementia holidays in 2022 with a view to leading up to 10 holidays per year thereafter. As one of a team of 5 Adventure Leaders, you will primarily cover holidays in the southern half of the UK. This will involve travel and being away from home for the duration of these five-day breaks (Monday to Friday).
Whilst not delivering holidays your coordination/administration time will average 1 flexible day per week. You will support the team with efficient and effective day to day practical coordination and office support, working closely with the Head of Adventures, Adventure Leaders, Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteers. The role also includes helping to expand the range, diversity and availability of holidays in line with the 3-year Strategic Framework and Adventures delivery plan.
We are looking for an individual who has a high level of practical and organisational skills, excellent interpersonal skills and is a reliable, flexible, caring and empathetic communicator.
You will be able to understand and be understood by different groups and individuals in a range of situations, sometimes challenging ones, and always able to respond in a calm, responsible and appropriate manner.
You will enjoy working collaboratively as part of a small, non-hierarchical team.
