We know that getting a break is essential for people living with dementia and their main supporters. We understand that funding your holiday can sometimes be difficult.

As a charity, we offer our holidays on a not-for-profit basis. We only charge the amount it costs us to run the holiday. The price does not include any of the charity overheads or running costs; we meet those with thanks to our funders. This enables us to reduce the price of all our supported holidays, making them more affordable.

We don’t want finance to be a barrier to people living with dementia getting the holiday they need.

Accessing Financial Support

You can access funds to help make your holiday happen, especially if you are on a means tested benefit. Read our guide to financial assistance. It contains information on how and where to apply for funding to support your break.

Dementia Adventure Support Fund

Thanks to the support of individuals, businesses and grant funders, including the player’s of People’s Postcode Lottery, we have been able to create the Dementia Adventure Support Fund.

The Support Fund offers a contribution towards the cost of your holiday, further reducing the amount you have to pay.

You may be eligible for a contribution towards the cost of your holiday if:

  • Finance has stopped you from accessing a break.
  • You have not had a break in the last two years.
  • You have experienced cuts in funding.
  • You are receiving means-tested benefits.
  • Your carer has had to give up work.
  • You have not previously accessed financial support through the Dementia Adventure Support Fund.

Unfortunately, we have a limited amount in our Support Fund and we may not always be able to offer financial help.

If you would like to apply to the support fund please contact us.

Can You Help?

Getting a break is essential for people living with dementia and their friends and family who support them. Research shows that our supported holidays significantly improve physical and mental well-being for both the person with dementia and their care-giver.

Yet finding a holiday that can meet individual support needs at an affordable price can be challenging.

We hope to help even more people with dementia to access the break by offering a greater number of supported holidays at an affordable price.

As a charity, we depend on the generosity of fundraisers, trusts, grants and businesses. If you or your business would like to make a holiday possible for people living with dementia and their families, please contact us.
