‘Dementia Adventure in a Box’ – growing the Dementia Adventure movement through social licensing.

Evidence shows there are too many people who are ‘risk averse’ and need training and support to embrace the benefits of outdoor activity for people with dementia.

People living with dementia, their family carers and the staff and friends who support them consistently tell us that they need a Dementia Adventure in their area, there are not enough choices and outdoor activities on offer locally, they would like to do more with the right support, and they wish they had known about us years ago.

We work in partnership with organisations to provide in-depth support to their staff and volunteers to become confident ‘adventure leaders’. This enables an increase in the range of nature based, positive risk taking activities offered to people living with dementia in local communities.

Our partner organisations are varied and include care home groups, care farming organisations, health care providers, green space charities and local authorities.
